Fertility Cases & Success Stories

Patient Background: A 30-week pregnant patient was diagnosed with partial placenta previa. Her OBGYN advised that if the condition did not resolve within four weeks, she would need to deliver via C-section. Concerned about this possibility, she sought acupuncture treatment, expressing a strong desire to achieve a natural vaginal birth. Total Sessions: 8 acupuncture treatments Frequency: Twice per week On September 3, 2020, the patient reported that her OBGYN had confirmed complete resolution of her placenta previa. As a result, she was cleared for a natural, vaginal delivery. This case highlights how acupuncture may support optimal pregnancy outcomes, providing expectant mothers with more options for a smoother and safer birth experience.

Placenta Previa

PCOS + IVF

Patient Presentation: 37 yrs old female came in for fertility treatment. She and her husband has been TTC for 3 years. She has done 1 round of IUI without success and developed ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. Patient was diagnosed with PCOS. Patient went through 2 rounds of IVF in which both failed. She planned to do another round of IVF but heard that acupuncture can help increase the chance of fertility success. Treatment Protocol: 2x/week until her retrieval date. 3x/week for the week before her retrieval. She was also prescribed herbs. Result: 23 eggs retrieved, 21 fertilized, 8 embryos in which 3 were healthy. Patient is currently pregnant. Update: this patient delivered a healthy baby girl.

Amenorrhea due to PCOS

Patient Presentation: 30 Years old female, stopped having her period 6 months after delivering her son. She missed her menstruation for a few months with no signs of possible miscarriage or pregnancy. Patient was also diagnosed with PCOS and was put on progesterone medication in September by her MD to promote menstruation. Her menstruation came in October without ovulation and ceased thereafter with spotting every 50 days. Result: Her period came after 1.5 months of acupuncture treatments and after 3 months of treatment, she started ovulating again. Her menstrual cycle has been consistantly cycling every 45 days. Treatment Protocol: 1-2 treatments/week with herbal prescriptions.

Endometriosis

Patient Presentation: 39 years old, diagnosed with severe endometriosis. The patient experienced severe symptoms associated with endometriosis, including debilitating menstrual cramps, heavy bleeding, and intense migraines. Clinic Treatment: Customized treatment protocol, which included a personalized acupuncture regimen and herbal medicine tailored to her condition. Improvements Observed: Resolution of migraines, menstrual flow normalized to a healthy pattern, menstrual cramps reduced to a mild 1-2 out of 10 on the pain scale.
